Sabe esses bordados de pérolas? É o atelier Lesage quem faz. Lagerfeld passa os croquis e eles se debulham para executar. Assim acontece com os sapatos, plumas, camélias, chapéus, tudo feito por outros artesãos super tradicionais e de quem o grupo Chanel é dono. Falei muitas vezes sobre isso no blog. Contei muitas vezes essa historia, mas nunca é tarde para sempre relembrar, suítar como falamos na linguagem jornalística. Significa dar sequencia, relembrando o que aconteceu para deixar o leitor a par do que rolou. Ninguém é obrigado a saber tudo. A gente nunca sabe.
Do you know these embroidery with pearls? Lesage is the atelier who makes it. Lagerfeld passes the sketches and they work hard to execute them. The same happen with shoes, feathers, camellias, hats, all made by other super traditional artisans and whose Chanel group owns. I have talked about this many times in the blog. I told this story many times, but its never too late to always remember, suite as we say in the journalism language. It means giving sequence, recalling what happened to make the reader aware of it. Nobody has to know everything. You never know.

One of the most remarkable things in a Chanel fashion show is that everyone wears Chanel! It seems obvious, but it's not how it works with the other brands, but it is with Chanel. The cool thing is to see how the brand has unfolded within the theme and made some"combos". This is one of them. Leather jacket and chain tiaras in the head. Sign of the young chaneletes (the majority are assistants of the maison, a kind of uniform for them) ...
Depois tem o despojamento dentro do luxo. As estrelas da moda são bem essas. Dolce & Gabbana também fez, mas foi Chanel quem puxou, pelo menos essa febre. A diferença? A logo embutida discretamente (para alguns sim, outros não!) na estampa! A displicência que marca o momento? Deixar a bolsa aberta. Assim mesmo. Funciona apenas dentro da segurança de um desfile.
Then there's the minimization within luxury. Those are the stars of fashion. Dolce &Gabbana also made it, but it was Chanel who pulled the fever. The difference? The logo discreetly built (for some, but not for others!) in the print! The displacement that marks the moment? To leave the bag open. Just like that. Works only within the safety of a fashion show.

In a hurry to show you the Chanel moment I experienced this morning at the Grand Palais. An ocean atmosphere ended up inside the Summer 2012 collection magnificently designed by Karl Lagergeld.

Dior, Rachel Zoe, Orlando Bloom...
Chego atrasada aqui para postar o dia de ontem. Escaldante total, mas cumprido com louvor. Como sempre acontece, entro no desfile da Dior no pulo! A espera pelo anúncio do nome de Marc Jacobs não aconteceu. Nada de novo no ex-reino de Galliano e a moda continua limpa, quase insossa, mas elegante. Dior é Dior sempre e os códigos da maison estão encrostados na vida de muita gente. Antes de mais nada é um dos bastiões da moda mundial e isso não tem escândalo que abafe. Como moda, uma eterna busca de manter esses códigos e a tarefa tem sido cumprida pelos ateliês da maison. Cores claras, chapéus
( Stephan Jones) e nada de teatralidade dos tempos áureos que ninguém quer falar. Foi assim. Grandes tops, Karolina Kurkova abrindo ( com quem eu encontrei mais tarde no coquetel que o hotel Bristol ofereceu para Vogue Brasil e que eu fui bookada para fazer as fotos....) Vê o link aqui.
I arrive late here to post about the day before today. Totally scalding, but accomplished with praise. As always, I got in Dior’s show on a leap! The waiting for the announcement of Marc Jacobs name didn’t happened. Nothing new in Galliano’s former kingdom and the fashion stays tidy, almost insipid, but polished. Dior is always Dior and the maison’s codes are crusted in many people’s lives. Above all it is one of the world fashion bastions and there’s no scandal that will succumb it.
As fashion, an eternal pursuit to keep this codes and the task has been accomplished by the maison’s ateliers. Light colors, hats ( Stephan Jones) and none of the theatricalism of the golden years that no one wants to talk about it. It was like that. Amazing top models, Karolina Kurkova opening it ( with whom I met later in a cocktail party that the Bristol hotel hosted to Vogue Brazil and that I was booked to shot the pictures…) The link to it here.
Fora a moda, e que também é super moda, o que mais curto num desfile da Dior são os personagens. E eu que vinha dizendo que o batom vermelho caiu!!! Nada! Olha ele as japas fazendo suas versões personalizadas de como interpretar o momento mundial. Linda essa mistura. Linda interpretação.
Besides fashion, and it also is super fashion, what I dig the most in Dior’ fashion are the characters. And from whom that was saying that the red lipstick was done!!! Not at all! Look at it and the Japaneses doing their own personified versions of how elucidate the world’s momemtum. So beautiful this mixture. Beautiful interpretation.

Hoje o dia foi quente demais e cheio de trabalho pesado. A cobertura de streetstyle do blog, durante a Paris Fashion Week, vai com exclusividade para o site da Vogue Brasil. Aqui uns flashes dos desfiles que vejo. O maior e melhor do dia é Dries van Noten. O estilista belga é o rei das estampas e de alfaiataria de melhor qualidade. Na apresentação de hoje, a inspiração nas luzes de uma cidade, nos trens, nos seus arredores, como a presença de um circo! Lindo demais. Amo Dries. Volto a falar nele sempre, mas é que hoje o foco era mesmo as portas e tudo que elas podem ditar.
Today was extremely hot and full of hard work. The streetstyle coverage of the blog,during Paris Fashion Week, will go exclusively for the Vogue Brazil website. Here it goes some flashes of the fashion shows I see. The bigger and best one of the day is Dries van Noten. The Belgian designer is the king of prints and best quality tailoring. In the presentation today, the inspiration was in the lights of a city, in the trains, their surroundings, like the presence of a circus! Too beautiful. I love Dries. I always come back to talk about him, but today the focus was at the doors and everything that they can dictate.

Palais de Tokyo...
Voltar para Paris, dias antes de começar uma maratona de desfiles, tem um certo ar de interrogação no ar.
Back to Paris, days before the fashion shows marathon begins, there’s a question mark atmosphere in the air.
The city has its same exuberance, along with the season change, but I keep in search of signs that will show me to where fashion is making its leap.
I took the afternoon to embrace another kind of environment, different from fashion shows and of so many fashion happenings with its overstatements and despairs, but still with lots of inspiration.
Fui para o Palais de Tokyo, um lugar onde desde o começo de minha vida por aqui me serve como refúgio nos dias de descanso e que nos dias de desfiles é de palco para algumas apresentações.
I went to Palais de Tokyo, a place that since the beginning of my life here suits me as a retreat on my resting days and that on fashion shows is the stage of some exhibits.
Sobre o Palais, uma lista de infos ( que não vou enumerar agora, mas tem restaurante, exposições, livrarias com revistas maravilhosas! Ixi! Enumerei!). Fora isso e a vista para torre, existe ao lado, o Museu de Arte Moderna ( de onde foram roubados alguns quadros valiosíssimos ano passado e onde rolou uma expo maravilhosa sobre Basquiat) e os habituais skatistas que fazem daquele lugar sua pista de treinos.
About the Palais, a info’s list (that I won’t enumerate now, but there’s a restaurant, galleries, bookstores with amazing magazines! Wow! I did enumerate!), besides that and the tower view, right next to it is the Modern Art Museum (from where were stolen some quite valuable pictures last year and where happened a remarkable Basquiat exhibit) and the usual skaters turned this spot into their practice track.
E é com esse povo de todas as idades, que passa tardes infinitas de sol a se bater e rebater sobre o chão com suas pranchas, que eu me permito acreditar, apostar e amar uma moda indemodable.
And with this crowd of all ages, that spends endless sunny afternoons tumble and falling on the ground with their skates, that I allow myself to believe, make a stake and love a fashion that never goes out of fashion.

Claro que nas passarelas as tendências trazem sempre muito mais dificuldades a serem acrescentadas a nossos looks do dia a dia. É claro que essa moda dos skates que vejo é apenas um recorte de uma parte da sociedade, mas o que eu quero dizer é que é muito lindo ver gente vivendo a vida simplesmente vestida assim.
Of course that on the catwalks the trends bring along much more difficulties to be added into our day-by-day outfits. And of course that this skate fashion that I notice it’s only a cutting of a fraction in society, but what I mean is that is so beautiful to watch people living life dressed simply just like this.
E que isso me enche de fôlego para através do olhar ao descomplicado poder me preparar sério para todo o streetstyle elaborado que começa quarta-feira. Vou cobrir para mim, para Vogue Brasil e para a Gazeta do Povo, as always...

Quem acompanha o blog desde 2006, época de seu nascimento, sabe que ele é a trajetória de meu mergulho em Paris. Alta-costura, prêt-à-porter, editoriais de revistas, notícias, streetstyle, música. No blog, aprendi quase tudo que sei sobre moda, fotografia etc. A dedicação a esse pequeno espaço virtual simplesmente transformou minha vida. Aqui minha carreira como jornalista decolou internacionalmente. Aqui minha carreira como fotógrafa nasceu. Aqui algumas crenças morreram. Aqui conheci grandes amigos, perdi alguns e me transformei em uma profissional certa de que o principal objetivo de quem quer transmitir informação é o respeito ao leitor e a preocupação com a qualidade do que publica. Whoever follows this blog since 2006, year of its birth, knows that the blog is the trajectory of my life in Paris. Haute-couture, prêt-à-porter, magazine editorials, news, street style, music. With the blog I learned almost everything I know about fashion, photography, etc.
My dedication to this small virtual space simply changed my life. Here, my career as a journalist expanded internationally. Here, my career as a photographer was born. Here, some beliefs died. Here, I met great friends, lost some and turned myself into a professional, who believes that the main goal of someone who wants to report information is the respect with and to the reader and the content of whats being published.
Today, while packing my bags to move houses, to leave behind what I always called “my quaint Parisian apartment”, I came across some old archives, images from 2009. Haute-couture Dior fashion show. When Galliano still reigned. So many things that time has destroyed still reigned. No nostalgia. So, with respect, I open this post with a perfect image (for me at least). Merci Galliano, for the beautiful work that I had the opportunity to contemplate. All his beliefs became trends. That’s what I saw…
During these years my interest in street style was also growing exuberantly. Since 1999 I love the subject, but I came to find excellent sources of information with this blog while walking around. Each photograph is a new revelation. Trends that come and go and mix together – like the leather, animal print and hats. Total fever in the last years, don’t you think? If one goes out of style, the other gets in, but they are always orbiting.

O que muita gente não vê, para quem trabalha com fotografia, é um portal de revelações. Tudo que entra em uma imagem tem um significado, mesmo que não seja proposital.
In this crazy search of always bringing something different to the blog, I began to understand what would really come to happen. A premonition guided by the streets, whether they are the doors of the fashion shows or not. What many people do not see, is a portal of revelations for those who work with photography. Everything that goes into an image has a meaning, even if not deliberate.

E fecho com o que eu mais gosto dessa cidade que é um filme, um cartão, um quadro, um enigma, um parque de diversões: o céu limpo e azul refletindo no rosto dos fashionistas em dia de desfiles no Jardin de Tuilleries. --the clear blue sky reflecting in the faces of the fashionistas, at a fashion show day in the Jardin de Tuilleries. Merci my quaint little apartment for sheltering and inspiring me.
